When adding a blog and a journal to this site, the schema question that mattered most wasn't the content fields — it was who gets to be an author, and whether that needed its own concept.
Reusing an existing type
A person document already existed for testimonial-givers, and its own field descriptions said it was meant to be reused elsewhere eventually. That made it the obvious fit, rather than inventing a parallel author type.
